Introduction to Nalbinding, Class 3
This is a three-class series meeting on Tuesdays on February 13th, 20th, and 27th taught by Angela Robins.
Nålbinding is an ancient form of fabric construction that dates back to the Iron and Bronze Ages and was used in many regions of the world. The tools are simple: a single needle with an eye, and yarn that can be felted. In this class, students will learn the how to nålbind in the round while crafting a custom hat. We will discuss yarn selection for future projects and fulling methods for finishing.
Class fee (total): $60
Materials fee: $15, handmade wooden needle, practice yarn, copy of instructions
Seat fee: $45 ($15 per class)
Yarn will be available to purchase from the instructor.
If you prefer to bring yarn to class, it should be 100% wool or a majority wool blend, single-ply, worsted/chunky weight (ie Lambs Pride, Alafoss Lopi)
